Position Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

To co-organize and oversee the day-to-day operations of one federally funded study. The project coordinator will be primarily involved with coordinating an IES funded Goal 2 development project entitled “BEST in CLASS-Web: A Web-based intervention Supporting Early Childhood Teachers’ Use of Evidence-based Practices with Young Children at Risk for Emotional/Behavioral Disorders” The primary project is an IES funded Goal 2, which aims to develop a web-based version of a Tier 2 intervention, BEST in CLASS, targeting the reduction of challenging behavior of young children at-risk for emotional/behavioral disorders. Data will be collected for preliminary outcomes for teachers and children, as well as to assess the feasibility, usability, and efficacy of the model. The Project Coordinator plays an integral role in assuring that study objectives are met and are accomplished within the specified timeframe. The Project Coordinator is responsible for four key project tasks. First, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating data collection across the classrooms involved in the studies. Second, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating data entry, management, and cleaning. Third, the Project Coordinator will assist the investigators in the development and revision of the interventions in addition to assisting with IRB submissions and modifications. Fourth, the Project Coordinator will help manage the data staff as well as the hiring, training, and supervision of undergrad research assistants. The position will also allow the opportunity for the Project Coordinator to learn observational treatment integrity instruments. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the investigators and report on these tasks weekly.
Minimum Hiring Standards

A bachelor’s level degree in psychology or another related field is preferred and prior experience working in research labs and assisting with the coordination of studies. The Project Coordinator in this position will need the following competencies:

-Time-management skills and the ability to complete tasks in an efficient manner

-Keen attention to detail

-Organizational skills and the ability to develop systems to simultaneously manage separate deadlines, paperwork etc.

-Judgment in understanding when to make independent decisions and when to ask for guidance/supervision

-Communication skills and the ability to be persistent and effective with prompting team members to complete tasks.

-Ability to work in a diverse work environment.

-Ability to clearly and respectfully communicate with other study staff.
