Research Assistant Position Mt. Hope Family Center University of Rochester
Project FLIGHT is a 5 year research study funded by the National Institute of Child and Human Development. The study will examine 250 high risk families over the course of a three year period. Families participating in the study have a 3 year old child and live in the Rochester area.The purpose of the study is to investigate how and why interparental conflict spills over into the parent-child relationship. The aims of the study are met through observational family interactions, survey questionnaires, saliva collection to test parental stress hormones, and computerized executive functioning tasks.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Creating and adhering to study protocol
Recruiting participants from community organizations
Scheduling & conducting research visits with parents and children
Transporting clients for research visits
Record research visits using audiovisual equipment
Data management, including: data entry, archiving data, and coding
Assist in mentoring a team of undergraduate interns
Requires some weekend and evening availability
Commit 2 years to the project
Reliable form of transportation in order to transport clients
